Firearm Surrendered --June 3, 4 p.m. on Saratoga Creek Drive. The reporting party told the sheriff's office that his elderly aunt had given him a revolver to be destroyed. The $50 Iver Johnson Cadet .32 caliber revolver had belonged to the aunt's deceased husband. The family had no use for the firearm and asked that it be surrendered to law enforcement.

Found Property--June 2, 12:05 p.m. on Saratoga Avenue. Someone found a wallet near Saratoga High School and turned it in at the Saratoga Fire Department. The only forms of identification inside the wallet were business cards and credit card receipts. The officer tried to contact the owner several times but was unable to, so the officer booked the wallet and the money inside it into the evidence room as found property.

Petty Theft--June 1, 1:30 p.m. on Three Oaks Way. The officer responded to a disturbance between the victim and suspect. The victim had invited the suspect to his home and left her in his bedroom for about 15 minutes. He then returned and accused her of taking $200 in $20 bills from his bookshelf. The suspect had about $300 in her overnight bag and a recent pay stub for about $550.

Petty Theft--May 29, 5:50 p.m. on Big Basin Way. The $200 Kenwood face plate to the victim's car stereo was stolen when he parked the car in a lot by his wife's workplace. There was no sign of forced entry to the vehicle. The victim didn't report any other item missing.

Theft of Identity--May 29, 11 a.m. on Merrick at Calle Tacuba. On May 12, the victim received a letter from a bank that said her application for her credit card had been denied. Since she never filled out an application, she called to see if the bank had sent her the letter in error. She then learned that an unknown person in Chino Hills had tried to use her name and social security number to acquire a credit card in her name. Because the applicant had used the wrong date of birth on the application, the credit card company denied the suspect credit.

The suspect wanted to purchase two money orders, one worth $300 and the other worth $283. The check total includes an $11.90 charge to cash the check and two $0.29 charges for the money order purchases. The suspect is still at large.
