Mixed media quilts at Montalvo Gallery
Nature on the Grid, an installation of eight contemplative, large-scale wall and floor "quilts" is on display through Sept. 17 at the Gallery at Montalvo, 15400 Montalvo Road in Saratoga. Among the quilts, created by Korean-born artist Kyoung Ae Cho, are some that contain sections of wood sliced, squared and painstakingly sewn onto black fabric and then arranged in complex geometric or serial patterns. Other quilts comprise leaves, pine needles, hair and other natural materials.
Gallery hours are Wednesday through Sunday, 1 to 4 p.m. For more information, call 408.961.5813.
