Musical version of 'Romeo And Juliet'

'Silence Matters' art exhibit





    Young musicians will play, tour with youth symphony

    Prior to its concert tour to Germany and Switzerland, the international award-winning California Youth Symphony, conducted by Maestro Leo Eylar, presents a Tour Preview concert on June 25, at 2:30 p.m. in Gunn High School's Spangenberg Theatre, 780 Arastradero Road in Palo Alto.

    Among the CYS's 100 pre-teen and teenage musicians are Saratogans Jay Bordeleau, Emily Chang, Jessica Chang, David Chao, Jonathan Chou, Cindy Hsu, Mark Hsu, Sydney Larson, Samuel Lee, Jessica Ling, Olivia Sattayapiwat, Jeffrey Shiozaki, Colby Smith, Sophie Sung, Annie Weidert and Daniel Yao.

    The program for the June concert features four selections from the tour repertoire: Cello Concerto in B Minor by Antonin Dvorak, Porgy and Bess--A Symphonic Portrait by George Gershwin, Polovetsian Dances by Alexander Borodin and Rienzi Overture by Richard Wagner.

    Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for students and senior citizens. For more information, call 650.325.6666.
