For Love of the Game
Saratoga's Ashvin Soin (top) and Garrett Wyatt played their way into the second round of the Central Coast Section doubles tournament before losing in straight sets to a team from York High School. Soin, a sophomore, and Wyatt, a freshman, teamed for a close 6-0, 3-6, 6-3 win over Steven Hu and David Partido of Overfelt in the first round of the CCS tournament. But the Falcons lost 6-4, 6-4 to Vince King and Roger Hawley of York. Monta Vista's Stefan Parker and Jason Tsui won the section doubles crown. Soin and Wyatt had finished second to the Monta Vista duo in the De Anza Division championships.
