Library gets ready to raise the roof
On June 26, the Saratoga Community Library Foundation kicks off a fundraising campaign to expand the Saratoga Community Library. Hosted by the SCLF, its patrons, Friends of the Library and the Library Commission host "Raise the Roof," an event for which guests are encouraged to wear hard hats, overalls and painter pants.
The evening begins at 6:30 p.m. with beverages inside the library and the Chuck Thompson Harmony Quartet playing outside. Next is a buffet dinner served in the library parking lot, followed by Big Band music from the Lyratones.
Tours of the library during the evening will emphasize the need to enlarge and improve the 21-year-old building. Tickets are $50 each and can be obtained at the library or by sending a check, payable to the Saratoga Community Library Foundation, to P.O. Box 2804, Saratoga, 95071.
