AAUW awards two scholarships

The Los Gatos-Saratoga Branch of the American Association of University Women recently awarded $500 scholarships to Thuy-Vy Chau and Kristen Watson, students at West Valley College.

The annual scholarships are presented to female re-entry students graduating in the field of math or science and transferring to a college or university to complete the bachelor's degree.

Selection is based on academic commitment, professional goals, leadership, community service and need.

Watson plans to study environmental science at Humboldt State University. Chau, a biochemistry major, will attend UC-Davis.
