Saratoga NewsSheriff's ReportResidential Burglary--June 1, 8 p.m., on Clemson Avenue. Burglars removed a rear window screen and entered the house. The victims reported that drawers and jewelry boxes had been disturbed, and rings and earrings were stolen. Also stolen were two cameras, six compact discs and a boom box. The burglars left via the front door. The burglary happened while the victims were away from home for 90 minutes. Restraining order violation--June 2, 12:40 p.m., on Austin Way. The victim said the suspect drove to her place of business in violation of a restraining order, which states that the suspect must not come within 300 yards of the victim's place of business or residence. The suspect said it was not her in the car, but her friend, and therefore she did not violate the restraining order. Dangerous man--June 3, 5:10 p.m., on Cox and Paseo Presada avenues. A 32-year-old man pulled down his pants to his ankles, exposing his briefs while standing in front of Quito Shopping Center. The man was yelling, saying that he was a diabetic in need of insulin. He was transported by ambulance to the Valley Medical Center emergency room after being evaluated by paramedics at the Saratoga substation. False information--June 3, 3 p.m., at Saratoga High School. An investigation by Fred Knox, attendance officer for the Los Gatos-Saratoga Joint Union High School District, found that an 18-year-old student supplied a false document to the school district in February, stating that he lived in Saratoga when he really lives in Campbell. Superintendent Tod Likins said the district loses $5,800 per year owing to intentional false information. Petty theft--June 4, 5 p.m., at Saratoga High School. A 15-year-old student reported that his backpack was stolen from the library after he left it unattended. Battery on a Peace Officer--June 4, 7:36 p.m., on Saratoga Creek Road. Police responded to a 911 call for a domestic dispute. When they arrived, the wife answered the door, and the 49-year-old husband ran to the back of the house. One deputy followed him and was ordered out of the house. The man pushed the deputy and bit him. He was arrested. Attempted Theft--June 5, 8:35 p.m., on Douglas Drive. A 40-year-old woman said her bank called her to say that a $449 purchase on her credit card had been denied. A second charge at a gas station had been canceled with a $1 service charge applied to her account. The woman and her husband were unaware of the use of her credit card. Runaway--June 5, 4 p.m., on Yuba Court. A 16-year-old sophomore at Saratoga High School left home with a large suitcase of clothes and $150 cash. She was last seen by her friend at about 4 p.m. and was suspected to have run away to her boyfriend's house.
