Deadline for county fair talent showcase
Saratogans hoping to display their talents at the 1996 Santa Clara County Fair community showcase have until July 1 to submit applications. Anyone interested must pick up a request form at the Youth Focus Office at 1620 Fruitdale Ave. in San Jose or call Ellen Chong at 298-2644. Performers can submit work samples with their applications. This year's fair, themed "Squiggles and Giggles," will run from July 24 to August 4.
Produce sought for food bank
Grace United Methodist Church will collect fresh produce for the Second Harvest Food Bank each Sunday afternoon from June 23 through Aug. 25. Food can be dropped off between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. at the church, located at 19848 Prospect Rd.
