Detonation of explosives --2 p.m., June 9 on Quito Road. Someone placed an explosive device in a mailbox. This is the second occurrence.
Cruelty to animals--On the evening of June 4 on Karen Circle. A woman said her cat did not come home. The next day she saw it limping and falling down. A ball bearing was removed from the cat's right rear flank by a veterinarian. There are no suspects or witnesses.
Petty theft--Between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., June 3 at Saratoga High School. A 21-speed, unlocked mountain bike valued at $330 was stolen. There are no suspects.
Petty theft--Between 1:30 p.m. and 6 p.m., June 2 on Big Basin Way. An employee of a Saratoga Village business reported her wallet and keys missing from her purse. Later, her ATM card had $180 charged to it. There are no suspects.
Forgery--Between May 29 and the present. Two people passed checks suspected to be stolen at a record store on Prospect Road. One suspect tried to pass a check that had a hyphenated Asian name, though witnesses said the suspect did not appear Asian and had no identification. The other also tried to pass a check with no I.D.
Grand theft--During the first week of June on Bougainvillea Court. An antique Winchester 30/30 rifle worth $450 was taken from a bedroom closet. The victim had numerous workers at his house during this time. There are no suspects.
