Third-graders from Argonaut School were well-equipped with water balloons and buckets of water when they turned out at Congress Springs Park on June 13, to celebrate their future as fourth-graders.

Some 100 students representing five classes were happy participants in the end-of-school picnic which featured lots of food, fun and friends.

Highlight of the day arrived when each student tossed a water balloon high in the air and waited for the nice, cool water to come splashing back down. Lots of moms were on hand to help teachers make the day special for students.

On warm days like those experienced last week, it's sometimes the one who breaks the water balloon who feels like the winner.
The last day of school was June 14, and youngsters throughout Saratoga are dreaming now of the long, hot days of summer.
