    Budget Passes

Saratoga's 1999-00, 2000-01 budget was unanimously approved, as expected June 16 by the City Council.

The council did most of its budget-tweaking and question-asking over the past few months as it heard presentations from analyst Mary Jo Walker on various budget portions.

The hefty document contains few big changes, but outlines how the city will spend and save its money for the next two years. This year's city budget was deemed relatively healthy by city staffers, who point to a continually rising general fund, expected to top out at $7.36 million in 2001.
