EMQ receives awards for programs
Eastfield Ming Quong Children and Family Services has received two national awards of excellence from the National Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare in recognition of its innovation and achievement in this field.
EMQ is a Campbell-based nonprofit community agency that each year treats thousands of Santa Clara County children who have serious emotional disturbances.
This year, EMQ was the only organization of its kind in the United States to earn two NCCBH awards. Award-winners were selected by a panel of judges comprised of distinguished experts in the field of community behavioral health.
One of EMQ's honors was for its wraparound service called Program UPLIFT (Uniting Partners to Link and Invest in Families Today), which creates working alternatives to the traditional approach of removing troubled children from their homes and placing them in institutional treatment programs. EMQ strives to keep children and families together whenever possible. The second honor recognized EMQ for its organizational transformation that resulted in increased productivity, lower staff turnover and better outcomes for the children and families it treats.
Proceeds from the Butter Paddle in Saratoga support EMQ.
