Saratoga NewsVillage BriefsCounty Fair seeks entries The Santa Clara County Fair, which runs from July 31 through Aug. 9, is now accepting entries from gardeners, artists, craftspeople, writers, cooks, bakers, technology fans, livestock owners and other hobbiests who would like to be recognized for their achievements. Ten different divisions of exhibits are available: fine arts, agriculture/horticulture, home arts, junior stills, industrial technology, floriculture, junior livestock, senior livestock, junior small animals and senior small animals. Rules and guidelines are contained in the fair's entry information booklet, which is available at some stores and libraries, as well as the Fairgrounds on Tully Road in San Jose. Deadline is July 1. For more information, call 494-3200 or visit the Web site at www.thefair.org. Grammar school plans alumni picnic The fourth annual Saratoga Grammar School Alumni Reunion Picnic is set for Aug. 1. It begins with a tour of the alma mater from 10 a.m. to noon and a picnic and party from noon to 7 p.m. at Wildwood Park. Those attending should bring their own picnic lunches and are encouraged to bring old class pictures and stories to share. Barbecue pits will be available for cooking. Soda and beer will be provided. Choir boys perform, need local host homes The Saratoga Senior Center is sponsoring concerts by a group of choir boys from Lomme, France, on July 11 at the First United Methodist Church of Los Gatos and July 12 at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Saratoga. The choir has toured throughout Europe and the United States. Tickets are $5 each, with proceeds shared by the senior center and the choir. The center is also looking for local families willing to house two of the boys for a few nights and provide meals and transportation to the concerts.
