Summit League names new officers, welcomes members

The Summit League has elected Gigi Spinazze of Saratoga as president. Vice president is Linda Cosentini, also of Saratoga, while Saratogan Danny Swanson takes over duties of treasurer.

Elaine Knoernschild of Los Gatos is serving as the new recording secretary, and Los Gatan Ann Atkinson is the corresponding secretary.

Established in 1957 as a nonprofit organization, the Summit League consists of 45 active and 56 sustaining members committed to raising funds in the areas of education, health, welfare and the arts. Since its founding, the organization has raised more than $500,000 for charitable organizations in Santa Clara County.

The organization recently welcomed eight new members. They are Saratogans Pat Hammett, Gay Crawford, Ginny Bowman, Joey Vaudagne, Gretchen Main and Julie Black and Los Gatans Carol Parker and Jan Willoughby.

Homes for the Holidays, the organization's annual fundraiser, takes place Dec. 5 and 6 and will showcase three Saratoga homes decorated for the holidays by leading professional decorators and floral designers. The event benefits San Jose Repertory Theater.
