Pop Warner has openings

Openings remain for players and cheerleaders for the fall season in the Los Gatos Pop Warner Football Association.

The Los Gatos Panthers has openings for players ages 12-14 with who weigh 120-145 pounds. For more information, call 270-1443.

Girls ages 8-14 who live in the Los Gatos, Saratoga, Campbell and Willow Glen school districts can sign up to become cheerleaders in the fall season. For more information, call 353-8697.

Youth Football

The Campbell-Saratoga youth football organization is now holding signups for boys and girls ages 8-14 interested in playing football or becoming cheerleaders in the fall season.

All-Star Football

The 24th annual Charlie Wedemeyer All-Star Football Game, featuring the best high school seniors from the Santa Clara County, will return to San Jose State University's Spartan Stadium on July 22.

Wedemeyer will be on hand to greet the players prior to the 7 p.m. kickoff. The football game is sponsored each summer by the Almaden Valley Rotary Club, and proceeds go to the Rotary charity and scholarship programs.

San Jose Giants Fireworks Display

The San Jose Giants will present fireworks displays after California League games on July 4 and 5 at San Jose Municipal Stadium, and reserved tickets are currently on sale.

A limited number of box seats are available for the two games that are annual sellouts. Tickets are priced at $9 each, and there is a limit of four tickets per person. The SJ Muni box office is open noon-6 p.m. on weekdays.

General admission tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for kids and seniors for all games, but seats are not reserved.

Soccer Camp

The Los Gatos United Soccer League will host a recreational summer camp on Aug. 17-21 at Fisher Middle School.

Paul Holocher, a Santa Clara All-American and charter member of the San Jose Clash, will run the camp along with other professional players from the Clash and the California Jaguars.

The cost is $70 for players ages 5-7 and $80 for players ages 8 and over. Early registration is encouraged. Call 358-9289, ext. 5 for information.

All-Comers

Los Gatos will host a series of all-comers track and field meets at the high school track this summer. Meets are held Thursdays at 5 p.m. through Aug. 25. The entry fee is $3 for unlimited events, and the fee is $2 for spectators. For more information, call Willie Harmatz at 354-7365.
