Neale-May & Partners names vice-president

Richard G. Claeys, a 10-year Saratoga resident, was recently named as Neale-May & Partners' new vice-president and senior adviser for the West Coast office, located in Palo Alto.

Claeys will be responsible for several of the agency's important professional services and business-to-business accounts. As senior adviser, he will also provide counsel to executives of client firms on strategic communications issues, and give advice on strategic and operational matters within the Neale-May & Partners organization.

Claeys has held senior communications positions in financial services, health, and energy industries. For 10 years, he headed corporate communications at the Electric Power Research Institute, Palo Alto.

He earned a master's degree from Boston University's College of Communications. He is a founding director of the San Francisco Public Relations Academy, a member of the advisory board of San Jose State University's Public Relations Program, and former chair of the College of Fellows, Public Relations Society of America.
