Saratoga artist takes gallery visitors on an armchair tour
From the unspoiled wilds of Mendocino to the bustling beaches of San Diego, Saratoga resident Dan Tellep takes Aegis Gallery visitors on an armchair tour of these locales and everywhere in between in Along the California Coast, the gallery's featured exhibition from June 27 through July 30.
According to Tellep, his watercolor images are about the simple, enduring beauty of the many cities, villages and harbors situated along the California coast--places he has either visited or lived near during his lifetime. Now in what he calls his "golden years," Tellep says these places have taken on a fresh appeal, and so have found their way to his canvases.
"I sought to convey my impressions of places and moods where some sense of beauty, tranquillity and quiet calm might bring to body and spirit a restorative pause," he says of his artwork.
Aegis Gallery is at 14531 Big Basin Way, Unit 2 in the Saratoga Village. The public is invited to an artist's reception on June 28, from 6 to 8 p.m. For regular gallery hours or more information, call 408.867.0171, or visit www.geocities.com/SoHo/Gallery/8678 on the Internet.
