Saratoga's Grammar School plans alumni reunion picnic
Share memories in Wildwood Park
From senior citizens to thirtysomethings--anyone who attended the old Saratoga Grammar School from the 1920s through 1965--is invited to attend the fifth annual alumni reunion picnic, scheduled for July 31 from noon to 5 p.m. at Saratoga's Wildwood Park. Spouses are also welcome.
Those attending should bring their own picnic lunches; the reunion committee will supply free soda and beer. Hot barbecue pits will be available from 1 to 3 p.m. for those who wish to cook their own meats. Alumni are encouraged to bring old class pictures, other school memorabilia and their favorite "remember when" stories to share.
Tickets are $10 per person, to cover the costs of drinks, paper goods and renting the picnic grounds. Commemorative T-shirts and cups are also available for purchase, at $20 and $11, respectively. All surplus monies leftover after the picnic will be donated to the Saratoga School Library. Last year's picnic provided $1,500 for the library.
Alumni wishing to register for the picnic may send a check for the total amount of tickets and other memorabilia--along with their phone number and the year they graduated--to Saratoga Reunion Committee, 347-D W. Rincon Ave., Campbell, 95008. For more information, alumni may contact any of the following members of the reunion committee: Les Landin, Dorothy Van Arsdale Stamper, Roy Teeple, Patti Wyant Reschar, Adrienne Reynaud Zimmerman, Norman Zimmerman, Henry Clarke, Mary Lou Teeple Butera, Jenny Taylor, Lea Ann Hernandez and Susan Ruzak Schwartz.
