    Fall Soccer

    The Saratoga AYSO will hold registration at Argonaut School for the upcoming fall soccer season on July 10, 9:30-noon.

    The league will work with MLS Camps to offer youth soccer camps Aug. 9-13 and Aug. 23-27, 9 a.m.-noon each day, at Congress Springs Park.

    All-Comers Meets

    The Los Gatos All-Comers track and field meets will be held each Thursday through Aug. 12 at the high school track. The entry fee is $3 for unlimited events in the open, high school boys, women's, girls' and master men's divisions.

    The pole vault event begins at 5 p.m., with other field events (long jump, shot put, high jump, triple jump and discus) beginning at 5:30 p.m. Track events begin at 6 p.m.

    The fee for spectators is $2.

    Scholar-Athletes

    Seven schools from the Santa Clara Valley Athletic League placed teams among the leaders in the Central Coast Section Scholastic Championships for the spring season.

    Saratoga, Cupertino, Lynbrook, Monta Vista, St. Francis, Los Altos and Gunn all had teams finish among the top scholar-athletes in the CCS.

    Cupertino placed three teams among the leaders. The girls gymnastics team was third in CCS with a 3.5434 grade point average, with the baseball team fifth at 3.1888 and the boys tennis team sixth at 3.5000.

    The Lynbrook boys tennis team was second overall at 3.5760, and the Monta Vista boys swimming and diving team was fourth at 3.3300.

    The Saratoga girls softball team was fifth at 3.4444, and the Falcons were also sixth in boys swimming and diving at 3.26237.

    Girls Hoop Tourney

    The first annual Los Gatos Basketball Tournament for girls varsity and junior varsity is set for July 9-11. All teams are guaranteed four games, and the entry fee is $250 per team.

    There will be three-on-three competition, a three-point shootout and free throw contests, and the event is open to all girls entering grades nine-12.
