Saratoga NewsSports BriefsSoccer coaches, referees needed The Saratoga AYSO youth soccer league needs coaches and referees for the fall season. The league needs 200 volunteers as coaches and assistant coaches in the youth soccer program, and 100 more referees. Saratoga AYSO provides a complete training program for coaches and referees. The area of most concern is the Division 4 program for boys ages 12-13. Registration is set for July 11, 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m., at Argonaut School. Pop Warner Openings remain for players and cheerleaders for the fall season in the Los Gatos Pop Warner Football Association. The Los Gatos Panthers has openings for players ages 12-14 weighing 120-145 pounds. For more information, call 270-1443. Girls ages 8-14 who live in the Los Gatos, Saratoga, Campbell and Willow Glen school districts can sign up to become cheerleaders in the fall season. For more information, call 353-8697. Youth Football The Campbell-Saratoga youth football organization will hold signups for boys and girls ages 4-14 interested in playing football or becoming cheerleaders in the fall season. Signups will be held July 11, 11 a.m.-2 p.m., at Luigi's Pizza, Winchester and Budd. Youngsters must provide an original birth certificate and photo. Skills Clinic The fourth annual Saratoga Skills Clinic will be held this summer for girls entering grades 7-12 this fall. Clinics will be held through July 23, 1-3 p.m. each Monday through Thursday. The cost is $175 per player. Saratoga girls' basketball head coach Bret Yeilding and his staff will conduct the the clinic, along with former top players.
