Sheriff's Report

Possession of Stolen Property--July 5, 11 a.m., on Candy Lane. A woman called and reported that her friend had found a handgun under the passenger seat of her car. Deputies were able to trace the gun's owner. The owner said the revolver was stolen from him eight years ago. A check of records did not show the gun as reported stolen. The revolver was submitted as evidence and booked into the sheriff's Westside Substation property room.

Residential Burglary--July 1, 3:55 a.m., on Afton Avenue. Unknown suspects entered a garage and took a briefcase. A car alarm scared the suspects away. Deputies believe the suspects may have broken into the locked pickup and used the garage-door opener to get inside the garage.
