Baseball camps for kids

SJSU Baseball Camp

San Jose State University head baseball coach Sam Piraro will lead the camp coaching staff at the 13th annual San Jose State Summer Baseball Camp at the school's practice baseball field.

The camp, open to boys and girls ages 6-15, will be held July 21-25, 10 a.m.- 1 p.m. each day, and will feature individual drills, group drills, daily scrimmages and individual evaluations.

The camp will cover hitting, fielding, baserunning, individual positions and teamwork. The cost is $85 per session, and all campers receive a T-shirt and are eligible for daily camper awards.

Camp with the Pros

South Bay Baseball will present its annual Camp with the Pros summer baseball skills camp for players ages 7-15.

The camp features a July 21-25 session at the former Blackford High School campus and an Aug. 4-8 session at John Muir Middle School. Camp fees are $99 for each one week session.

Former San Francisco Giants pitcher Roger Samuels is the camp director, and Mark Cummins, the head coach at Live Oak High School and a former professional infielder, is the director of instruction.

The camp will cover baseball fundamentals and will feature daily drills and scrimmages. Players will be grouped by age and ability levels.

SC Baseball School

Santa Clara University baseball coaches Mike Cummins and Lou Lucas will host the final session of their annual Santa Clara Baseball School in July for players ages 9-16.

The session will feature special hitting only camps July 21-25, 9-10:15 a.m. and 10:30-11:45 a.m. The cost is $50 per session. Each camper receives a T-shirt, and Bronco caps will be given to contest winners.
