What type of camp combines games, music, songs, crafts, drama, storytelling and nutritious snacks? It's Nature Camp, one of the many summertime activities for children offered through the Saratoga Recreation Department.
The day camp, geared toward children between 5 and 6 years old, is designed to give youngsters an eclectic, well-rounded way to spend their weekdays.

Along with all the activities above, Nature Camp also includes field trips to study the flora and fauna of local parks--and also to have fun! These venues include Villa Montalvo and Sanborn Park in Saratoga and Oak Meadow Park in Los Gatos. Other field trips may take campers to places like fire stations and libraries.
The July 23-Aug. 3 and Aug. 6-17 sessions of Nature Camp are already full; to be placed on a waiting list, or for more information about other day camps for youngsters, call 408.868.1248.
