A Cleaner Cleaner

Saratoga business owner Abe Afshari of Cleaner 2000 stands next to his Aqua Clean washing machines, which have helped him earn the 1996 Clean Air Award from the American Lung Association. His "wet cleaning" process is a water-based alternative to conventional dry cleaning methods that avoids using the chemical perchloroethylene, which has been found to contribute to cancer, deforestation and ozone depletion.
