Chang honored
Sheldon Chang of Saratoga received the Scarlet Key Award from Boston University's Alumni Association. The award recognizes graduating seniors for exceptional leadership in student activities. Chang, who received a bachelor's degree in physical therapy on May 19, also was the recipient of the Boston University Alumni Association Award for Sargent College and the Sargent College Professional Contribution Award. He is a 1992 graduate of Saratoga High School.
Hakone Foundation sponsors art tour
The Hakone Foundation has arranged for docent-led tours of two San Francisco art exhibitions on Thursday, July 25. The exhibits are Mingei: Two Centuries of Japanese Folk Art at the Asian Art Museum in Golden Gate Park, and the Faberge Jewelry Collection at the de Young Museum.
Carpools meet at 8:15 a.m. at Argonaut Shopping Center. Cost for general admission is $20, $18.50 for seniors and $11 for museum members.

Local Lions collect eyeglasses for needy
The Saratoga Lions Club will collect used eyeglasses for needy persons at the Saratoga farmers' market.
The Lions will share a community volunteer table with the League of Women Voters, the American Association of University Woman and the Saratoga Good Government Group.
Saratoga LDS Church adopts historical park
The Saratoga Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has adopted the Saratoga Historical Museum Park, 20460 Saratoga-Los Gatos Road, as a community service project.
Youth volunteers have held two cleanups, weeding and working with the soil to restore the park's landscaping. Other cleaning and planting days are planned. In addition, Eagle Scout projects are being planned around the park, says church spokeswoman Teri Jones.
