Perry Skinner
Longtime Saratogan Perry Jack Skinner died June 30 at the age of 80.
Skinner was born Nov. 28, 1918, in Detroit. During World War II, he served as an officer in the U.S. Air Force. A resident of Saratoga for 40 years, Skinner worked as a real estate broker for various local real estate offices.
In his free time, he enjoyed traveling throughout the country and the world with his wife, Hazel. He was also a big car buff; he kept his cars in mint condition and subscribed to just about every car fancier's magazine in existence, according to his wife.
Survivors include wife Hazel Skinner of Saratoga; daughter Diana Skinner of Santa Clara and son Jack Perry Skinner of Morgan Hill.
Memorial services have been held, with interment at Madronia Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Salvation Army or the American Heart Association.
Nancy Deffner
Saratogan Nancy Allen Deffner died July 5 at the age of 66.
Deffner was born June 5, 1933, in Columbus, Ohio. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include husband Richard P. Deffner of Saratoga; children Hunter D. Baima of Pittsburg, Kan., Robert A. Baker of Salt Lake City, Mark J. Deffner of Lemon Grove, Rebekah D. Bryant of Aledo, Texas, and Luke T. Deffner of Solano Beach; grandchildren Lane Baima, Sarah Deffner and Kelly, Jessica, Rebekah and Jack Bryant.
Memorial services have been held, with interment at Madronia Cemetery.
