Speed Camp
Olympic gold medalist Andre Phillips and veteran track coach Stan Dowell will host a speed and quickness camp Aug. 2-6 on the Los Gatos High School track.
The camp will feature speed and quickness training for all running sports, including football, basketball, baseball and soccer.
Phillips, who struck gold at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, Korea, in the 400-intermediate hurdles, will head up the camp along with Dowell, who coached Phillips and also coached Lee Evans to a world record and Olympic gold in the 400 meters.
The cost for the camp is $150 per athlete, and sessions run 5:30-7 p.m. daily.

Annual Camp With The Pros
South Bay Baseball presents its annual Camp With the Pros, a baseball camp for players ages 7-12 of all skill levels. The final session of the camp is set for Aug. 2-6, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. each day, at John Muir Middle School in San Jose.
The camp fee is $109 per player per session, but family and group rates are available.
Roger Samuels, a former major league pitcher for San Francisco and Pittsburgh, is the camp director and the director of instruction is Live Oak High School coach Mark Cummins, a former professional player.

San Jose State Baseball Camp
Fundamentals of the game of baseball will be stressed when San Jose State University baseball coach Sam Piraro hosts the annual San Jose State Baseball Summer Camps.
Piraro and his coaching staff will join area high school and junior college coaches as instructors at the camps to be conducted on the San Jose State practice fields.
The camps are open to players ages 6-16, with special hitting and pitching camps slated for players ages 12-17 in later sessions. All campers receive a T-shirt, and there will be daily scrimmages and group drills. There will also be player evaluations and special awards.
Sessions include:
* Aug. 2-6-- 11 a.m.-1 p.m., pitching camp for players ages 12-17, $125 per camper; 2-4 p.m., hitting camp for players ages 12-17, $125 per camper (or attend both sessions for $200).
