Sheriff's Report

Battery with injury--July 20, 8:27 a.m., on Martha Avenue. A 46-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman have had a romantic relationship for five years, with a history of violence. The man told police that the woman kept him in her room from 1 to 8 a.m. and that he tried to leave the room three times. The woman, who lives with her mother, was afraid that her mother would see her boyfriend leaving the house. He told police when he made a fourth attempt to leave, his girlfriend knocked him into the wall, causing a severe laceration to his forehead. Police said the woman has a history of mental problems and drug abuse.

Lost Passport--July 19, 7:30 a.m., on Calle Tacuba. An 80-year-old man reported he has not been able to find his passport since he returned from Taiwan in June. At that time, he was living in Saratoga with his son. The son, who told police he does not want his father to return to Taiwan, has been reported to have the passport by another witness. The son denies the charge.
