Sammy LaScola
Saratoga resident Sammy J. LaScola, 100, a retired movie projectionist for Paramount Productions, died July 21 at Our Lady of Fatima Villa.
LaScola was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., on Sept. 9, 1895. Son of Salvadora and Philippe LaScola, he was also a brother of Paul LaScola, Joseph LaScola, Anthony LaScola and Isabella Cosentino.
LaScola was a great uncle of 25 and leaves behind many cousins.
A Mass of Resurrection was celebrated at St. Anne's Chapel, Our Lady of Fatima Villa, on July 24.
Lloyd Marks
Saratoga resident Lloyd Marks, 79, a real estate broker, died July 19 at Veteran's Hospital.
Marks, a highly decorated World War II veteran and Purple Heart recipient, leaves his wife, Ina Marks.
Services with full military honors took place at Madronia Cemetery.
