Saratoga NewsSports BriefsSoccer Camps Summer soccer camps for youth will be held throughout August at West Valley Community College in Saratoga. A camp for kids ages 5-8 is set for Aug. 11-15, 3-5 p.m. each day. The fee is $40 per player. A camp for youth ages 9-11 will be held Aug. 18-22, 2-5 p.m., and the cost is $50 per player. Roller Hockey Tournament A roller hockey tournament for players under age 11 will be held Aug. 9 at Roosevelt Park in San Jose. The cost is $150 per team, and each team is guaranteed three games. Dammit Run The Los Gatos Dammit Run returns for its 24th year on Aug. 16 when runners will take off from Los Gatos High School for a five-mile run up to the face of Lexington Dam and back again. Golf Tourney The second annual Lynbrook Vikings Football Golf Tournament, that features a post-tourney barbecue and a special Lynbrook Hall of Fame induction, will be held Aug. 8 with a noon registration and 1 p.m. shotgun start at the Delaveaga Golf Course in Santa Cruz. The entry fee of $85 for the four-man scramble tournament includes a golf cart and the dinner to follow the tourney. Hall of Fame ceremonies will be held at the dinner. Basketball Camps The San Jose Lasers of the American Basketball League will hold summer basketball camps for boys and girls in August at San Jose State University. The camps, led by members of the Lasers and the team's coaching staff, will be held Aug. 11-14, 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. each day, for girls in grades 8-12 and Aug. 18-21, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. each day, for girls and boys in grades 3-8.
