ENGAGEMENTS

Forbes, Swanson

James Mallory Forbes II and Nicole Rae Swanson are engaged to be married Aug.10 in Anacontes, Wash.

Mallory is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Forbes of Saratoga. Nicole is the daughter of Raymond Swanson of Burlington, Wash.

Swanson attended San Maria High School in Novato and Chico State University. She is currently working for Oregon State Public Interest Research Group in Portland.

Forbes attended Saratoga High School and Chico State University. He is employed at a custom computer assembly company in Lake Oswego, Ore.

After a honeymoon trip to Alaska, the couple will reside in Portland.

Williams, Matlack

Alice and Jack Williams of Saratoga and Wimberley, Texas, recently announced the engagement of their daughter, Mary Alice Williams, to Edward Matlack, son of Caroline Gill of Carmel and Bob Matlack of Santa Cruz.

Williams graduated from Saratoga High School in 1986 and UC-Santa Barbara, where she received a bachelor's degree in political science, international relations.

Matlack graduated from Bellarmine in 1986 and UCLA, where he received a bachelor's degree in history. Both are employed by Multimedia Pathways in Redwood City.

The couple plan to marry in November.
