A DARING Camp Experience

Some 40 graduates from the 17-week DARE program, primarily from Saratoga and Cupertino, attended the annual summer camp last week at the Peace Officers Campgrounds in the foothills above Saratoga. The camp is free.

The camping experience included two nights under the stars and a variety of camp activities, including hiking and skits during the nightly campfire. DARE officers and high school students served as camp counselors.
The Sheriff's office hopes the camp will help break down barriers between law enforcement and young people.
