Saratoga NewsPhotograph by Edmund Lee Sign of the TimesThe Santa Clara County Sheriff Department's Westside Substation has temporarily stopped fingerprinting because of a staffing shortage. Lt. Cary Colla said one staff person is out on leave following surgery and another is off on maternity leave. But, Colla said, fingerprinting will be reinstated at the substation as soon as both employees return. In the meantime, West Valley residents can have their fingerprints processed at the downtown San Jose location at 55 W. Younger Ave., Monday through Friday, from 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.--by appointment only. For more information or to make an appointment, call 299-2217.
