Young artists sought for local art contest

A Place for Teens--also called The Outhouse--a youth center located behind Los Gatos High School, seeks artists ages 11-19 to submit entries for an upcoming mural project. Topics can be on sports, youth, community, music or other creative ideas. The drawings selected by A Place for Teens will be used to create a large mural inside the facility. Additionally, the first 100 entrants will also be invited to an arts conference where they will attend art workshops and learn about careers in the arts.

A Place for Teens is a nonprofit organization run by teen and adult board members. It offers a variety of programs, workshops, recreational and social activities in a drug-free environment to Santa Clara County teenagers.

Mural entries can be mailed to A Place for Teens, P.O. Box 1476, Los Gatos, 95031. For more information, call Laurie Scolari 395-5553.
