Coldwell Banker gets new broker

Coldwell Banker announces the addition of Mary Ann Curtis to its Saratoga/Prospect office.

Curtis brings more than 25 years of experience in the real estate business, and she is a certified corporate relocation specialist.

Since earning her broker's license in 1973, Curtis has received awards such as membership in the Million Dollar Club and an Achievement Club award, bestowed to agents who have achieved top-level performance for five consecutive years.

New sales associate at Coldwell Banker

Mary Alice Springborn has joined Coldwell Banker's Saratoga/Prospect office as a new sales associate. She has been a resident of San Jose for 30 years and is a volunteer for the Silicon Valley Charity Ball.

She is a member of the Tri-County Apartment Association and serves on that group's trade show committee.

Lil' Things opens

Lil' Things, a kids' superstore, has opened at Westgate Mall on Saratoga Avenue in San Jose.

A grand-opening preview celebration was held this month.

Kenyon joins The Controller's Office

Stanford Kenyon has been named senior management consultant for The Controller's Office Inc., a Saratoga firm that helps businesses with management tools and financial controls.

Kenyon will work with client companies on accounting, finance, administration, management information services and small business consulting.

He attended the University of Phoenix and Biola University.

The Controller's Office, 14612 Big Basin Way, Suite 5, provides financial-management services to emerging businesses on a consulting basis.

'Megabroker' honor

Kathy Liggett of Coldwell Banker Fox and Carskadon of Saratoga has been included among the "megabrokers" of California by Unique Homes, a national magazine of luxury real estate. She is featured with 56 others in the June/July issue of the magazine.

Attorney certified as civil trial specialist

Attorney Michael M. Shea of Saratoga has become a civil trial specialist certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy.

The requirements for certification include: numerous trials to jury verdict or judgment, continued legal education, submission of a trial court brief for review, attorney and judicial references, proof of good standing in the legal profession, and a day-long examination on trial techniques, evidence and ethics.

Shea is a trial attorney and practices law with his son, Michael M. Shea Jr., with the firm of Shea and Shea in San Jose.
