Saratoga postmaster reassigned during review
Saratoga is without a permanent postmaster following the reassignment of Charles Mirrione to the Moss Landing branch. Mirrione was reassigned about six weeks ago according to Kenneth James, who is the acting postmaster.
Kathy Burum, manager of consumer affairs for the San Jose postal district, of which Saratoga is a part, said Mirrione was reassigned after "performance issues" were raised. A review of these issues is currently being conducted and should be completed in the first part of September, Burum says. At that point, Mirrione may return to Saratoga or be replaced by a new postmaster.
Postmasters are responsible for the budget, employee safety, mail security, and customer service of their branches.
