The Santa Clara Sheriff's Department is investigating the Aug. 1 armed robbery of the Round Table Pizza restaurant on Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road.
According to the sheriff's report, two black men in their 20s walked into the quiet pizza parlor at 8:50 p.m. that day. One of the suspects, dressed in a blue-gray Georgetown parka, held the six customers and two workers at gunpoint, telling them to get on the floor, while the other suspect emptied the cash register.
Det. Danny Meeker said that the Sheriff's Department is still unsure of the identity of the robbers, but they have alerted surrounding police and sheriff's departments to be on the lookout for a blue older-model Cadillac spotted leaving near the scene.
Fingerprints lifted from the crime scene and processed in the next few weeks, and hopefully will give the Sheriff's Department a better idea of the suspects' identity, Meeker said.
One of the main leads sheriff's officers are following is a connection between this robbery and the recent robbery of a nearby Blockbuster video store.
Round Table managers declined to comment or to divulge the amount of money stolen.
