Appointed: Frank Jewett
Provisional trustee is named to WV-MCC board of trustees
This July, the West Valley-Mission Community College District Board of Trustees appointed Frank Jewett to serve as a provisional trustee, following the retirement of trustee Phil Stokes.
Jewett earned a bachelor's degree in economics from San Jose State University and has also taken classes at West Valley and DeAnza colleges. Jewett is an account executive with GE Capital and has been an active member of the South Bay community for 17 years. He now serves on the boards of the West Valley-Mission Community College District's Advancement Foundation, Junior Achievement of Santa Clara County, San Jose Medical Center Charitable Foundation and InnVision.
His volunteer activities include mentoring business students in the West Valley College Success Program and co-hosting the cable TV show Issues Today Community TV Forum.
The West Valley-Mission Community College District is made up of two campuses: West Valley College in Saratoga and Mission College in Santa Clara. The board consists of seven elected trustees.
