A Slip of the Foot
When Saratoga resident Ronald Becht, accidentally hit the accelerator instead of the brake while parking at the Argonaut Shopping Center Aug. 12, his car kept going instead of stopping. On its journey, the car hit a truck parked in the neighboring stall, then jumped the curb and crashed through the front window of the Argonaut Dry Cleaners, according to Sheriff's deputy Kris Tarabetz. Jae Lee, owner of the shop, was standing inside when the accident occurred and was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. He has since been released. According to Tarabetz, Becht is not being charged with a traffic violation but will be held responsible for the damage.
