Lydia Teague
Saratoga resident Lydia Teague died of heart failure on July 12 at the age of 95.
Born Oct. 5, 1904 in Sedalia, Mo., Teague married Jewell Teague in 1923, in Great Falls, Mont. While in California for their honeymoon, they visited Oakland and never went back.
Teague was a volunteer for the senior programs of the Congregational Church in Oakland, the Senior Center in Fremont, the Saratoga Senior Center, the Saratoga Federated Church and Fellowship Plaza. She was a member of Eastern Star and the Stella Chapter of Rebekahs. She was also known for her creativity, especially in the fields of painting, jewelry-making and sewing.
Teague was preceded in death by husband of 72 years Jewell Teague and daughter Bonnie Leighton. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Betty and Joe Eskeldson, former longtime Saratogans now of Cupertino; grandchildren Laurie Willet Minnear of Grass Valley, John Willet of Carmel, Dan Willet of Santa Cruz, Sheryl Leighton Wright of Oakley, Karen Eskeldson Hollenbeck of Yakima, Wash., and Mark Eskeldson of El Dorado Hills; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services have been held. Donations may be made to the IOOF Odd Fellows Home, 14500 Fruitvale Ave., Saratoga, 95070.
