Mountain Winery obtains use permit

Three candidates file for council race





    Sheriffs Report

    Possession of Drug Paraphernalia--Aug. 11, 6:15 p.m. on Campbell Avenue. A man had a crack pipe in his possession. He was cited and released by a sheriff's deputy on his written promise to appear in court on the matter.

    Petty Theft--Aug. 9, 11 p.m. on Sobey Road. Upon trying to access information about his bank account, a Saratoga resident discovered a woman was in custody in a different city for cashing one of his checks for $350.

    Firearm Destruction--Aug. 9, 4:26 p.m. on Seagull Drive. After a routine traffic stop, a man was arrested on two outstanding warrants. The man had a BB gun with him, which he said he no longer wanted. It was taken to the Sheriff's Office for destruction at the man's request.

    Under the Influence--Aug. 14, 10:34 p.m. on Pierce Road. Two deputies noticed a dog alone inside a parked vehicle. They checked the area for its owner and found a man hiding behind a bush on a resident's property. The resident did not know the man. The man showed signs of stimulant usage and he was arrested and booked in the main jail.

    Auto Burglary--Aug. 14, 6:10 p.m. on Saratoga Avenue. The window of a car was broken and the stereo was taken while it was parked at a gas station. There are no suspects or fingerprints. A report was taken.

    Theft of Identity--Aug. 14, 3:25 p.m. on Paseo Flores. A person somehow obtained a Saratoga resident's social security number and used it to open a fraudulent cellular phone account.

    Burglary--Aug. 14, 10:40 a.m. on Saratoga Avenue. An unknown suspect broke into a school's library and took a brand new computer valued at $2,050. There are no suspects.

    Vandalism--Aug. 14, 9 a.m. on Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road. An unknown suspect broke the window of a local business.
