Sheriff's Report

Residential Burglary--Aug. 7, 9:30 p.m., on Shadow Oaks Way. A resident left his house during the day, and when he returned he found radios, the television and the computer on throughout the house. He also discovered that beer and soda had been taken from the refrigerator and that someone had taken food from the kitchen and eaten it in the computer room. The camera from the master bedroom closet had been removed and placed on the windowsill in the bathroom. Two phones valued at $280 were missing. The unknown suspect, who entered through the back door of the residence, also left a compact disc and two telephone antennas behind.

Vandalism--Aug. 7, 2:20 p.m., on Big Basin Way. An unknown suspect tagged the door of a shed in the rear of a shop. The graffiti said "Bandit Won." The rest of the graffiti was undecipherable by deputies. The reporting party told deputies she did not know any "Bandit" and had no idea who tagged the shed door.

False ID--Aug. 7, 9 a.m., on El Camino Grande. Deputies received a call of a truck trespassing on private property. The driver had no license and the name the driver gave to deputies had no DMV match. Upon a consensual search of the truck, a California ID card with the suspect's true name was found. A records check showed the suspect had an outstanding warrant. The suspect was arrested and booked into the county jail.

Petty Theft of Mail--Aug. 6, 5:15 p.m., on Old Wood Road. A resident placed two checks in her mailbox at approximately 10:30 a.m. and raised the red flag to indicate outgoing mail. One check was to her mortgage company for a little more than $1,900, and the other was to a heating and air-conditioning company for $80. At 4 p.m. the same day, her bank called and advised her that someone was attempting to cash a check for the amount of $3,800. A stop-payment was placed on the check.

Burglary--Aug. 6, 3 p.m., on Glen Brae Drive. A person came to the Westside Substation to report that approximately one month ago, someone took the soft-drink machine from a local park. The reportee is affiliated with an organization that uses the snack area. No witnesses or suspects.

Property for Destruction--Aug. 5, 7:30 p.m., on Winter Lane. Deputies responded to a call of a verbal disturbance between two brothers. One of the brothers asked the deputy to take his BB gun and have it destroyed because he was not getting along with his brother and no longer wanted it in the house.
