    Youth Basketball

The Saratoga National Junior Basketball League will hold signups for the season on Sept. 26, 2-4 p.m., in the gym at Saratoga High School.

Boys and girls in the third through eighth grade who live in the city of Saratoga or in the Saratoga Union School District are eligible for the competitive league. There is also an instructional clinic program for second graders.

The registration fee is $150 ($75 for the second grade clinic). Additionally, families are expected to volunteer or contribute a $50 buyout.

Space is limited, and players are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Players must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and provide both a copy of their birth certificate and proof of residency (PG&E bill) at the registration.

The league provides players the chance to play a competitive level throughout the South Bay Area. For more information, call 536-0978.

For priority registration, send a fax to 353-8016 to take on one of the following positions: head coach (assistant coaches will not receive priority), clinic program helper, high school program coordinator, gym opening coordinator, gym closing coordinator, NJB Web site development and administration, special event coordinator, or all-star tournament coordinator. If you do not receive a response to your fax, you must come to the general registration on Sept. 26.

    Saratoga All-Net

The Saratoga National Junior Basketball League will hold tryouts for boys in sixth through eighth grade and girls in the eighth grade for the All-Net program.

Tryouts will be held on Sept. 19, noon, and Sept. 24, 6-8 p.m., in the gym at Saratoga High School. Players should attend both tryouts.

Registration is Sept. 19, noon-1 p.m., and players must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and provide both a copy of their birth certificate and proof of residency (PG&E bill). The registration fee is $200 (the fee will be refunded if the player is not selected).

The All-Net program is for select and highly skilled players only. Players who live in the city of Saratoga or in the Saratoga Union School District are eligible for the competitive program.

For more information, and for those interested coaching one of the All-Net teams, call 353-8016.
