Staff shortage may not be the reason

At a time when reporting correct news is more important than no news, I find the article in the Aug. 19 issue of the Saratoga News--"Mother's Day Out closing due to staffing shortage"-- offensive. Three or four weeks ago, I heard that the center was closing because of some unhappy parents, not because of staff shortages. In fact, many of the staff were retirees and loved the work.

As much as there may have been cause for this dissatisfaction with Mom's Day Out, there were equal, if not more, moms who were very happy with them. No one forced moms to use Mom's Day out. It was only there for convenience to moms.
