Aegis Gallery filled with photographs

For the month of September, Aegis Gallery's featured artist is Nancy Jo Lopp, who is exhibiting a series of photographs produced by the Polaroid emulsion transfer process. She uses hot water to remove each photograph's top layer, then sticks the layers on other surfaces such as glass, watercolor paper and rice paper. This often creates a three-dimensional quality.

Lopp, a longtime Los Gatan residing in the Santa Cruz Mountains, has been a fine art photographer for 15 years. She also grows, dries and sells her own lavender.

A reception for the artist takes place Sept. 4 from 6 to 8 p.m. The public is invited. Aegis Gallery is located at 14531 Big Basin Way, Unit 2 in Saratoga. For gallery hours or other information, call 867-0171.
