    Sheriff's Report

    Forgery--Aug. 24, 8:50 p.m. on Pierce Road. Someone intercepted a $10,000 check that an investment services company mailed to the victim and cashed it.

    Suspicious Circumstance Report--Aug. 24, 5 p.m. on Fruitvale Avenue. Between 2:30 p.m. and 4:15 p.m., an unknown person left a love note on the victim's car windshield. She received another love note Aug. 2. Sheriff's officers aren't sure if the person leaving the notes lives in the victim's apartment complex or is one of her co-workers. The officer kept the love note and submitted it as an attachment to the report at the substation.

    Auto Burglary--Aug. 24, 10:50 a.m. on Miller Avenue. The victim parked his car in his driveway the night before at 11:30. During the night, the suspect smashed the passenger window to enter the car and used unknown tools to remove the $500 Alpine stereo system.

    Vandalism--Aug. 24, 9:30 a.m. on Glen Brae Drive. During the night, the suspect drove up to the victim's mailbox and used a bat or similar object to tear the mailbox off a post. Neither the victim nor the officer obtained any suspect or witness information.

    Burglary (Storage Shed)--Aug. 24, 7:45 a.m. on Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road. Between 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 23 and 7 a.m. on Aug. 24, the unknown suspect(s) stole a chop saw from a tool shed.
