    Public meetings set on library expansion

    The city will hold a series of public meetings on the Saratoga Community Library's expansion and renovation. The purpose of the meetings is for the city to receive comments from residents on the library project.

    The first meeting will be held Sept. 18, at 7 p.m. in the library's community room at the corner of Saratoga and Fruitvale avenues. The topic of the meeting will be site development alternatives.

    The second meeting will take place Oct. 16, at 7 p.m. in the community room and the topic will be site development and building design alternatives.

    The third meeting will take place Nov. 20, at 7 p.m. in the Saratoga Community Center at 19655 Allendale Ave. and the topic will be the proposed building design.

    Celebrate! Events

    As part of the calendar of events for this year's Celebrate Saratoga!, there will be a community "all-you-can-eat" spaghetti feed Sept. 19, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Villa at 20400 Saratoga-Los Gatos Road. Tickets cost $5 for adults and $4 for children. Call 408.741.2954 for more information.

    The official kickoff for Celebrate! will be a High Tea event Sept. 21, at the Saratoga Senior Center at 19655 Allendale Ave. from 3 to 5 p.m. Sandwiches, pastries and tarts will be served as a flautist and a harpist play in the background. Cost is $10. Call 408.868.1257.

    At the Friends of the Saratoga Libraries Book-Go-Round at 14410 Oak Street, there will be an exhibit of works from more than 200 Saratoga authors Sept. 18 through Oct. 3. The exhibit will occur Sun.-Fri., noon to 5 p.m. and Sat. 10-5 p.m. Call 408.867.5552 .
