Montalvo gallery to open exhibit of prints, sculpture
The Gallery at Montalvo opens Sept. 20, with a new exhibit featuring the work of San Francisco artist Jeff King. His two major pieces are Blossom and Four Balls, a large wooden sculpture; and Wooden Sutra, a large block print struck from the simple wooden forms that accompany the print. The temple building and grounds at Tokugenji, Japan were King's inspiration for this piece.
The public is invited to a preview reception on Sept. 16, from 3 to 5 p.m., which includes a talk with the artist at 4 p.m. The gallery is at 15400 Montalvo Road. Regular gallery hours are 1 to 4 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday. For more information, call 408.961.5813.
