A Breakfast With Friends on a Labor Day Morning

Some 1,400 people shared breakfast at the fifth annual Saratoga LDS Labor Day Breakfast held Sept. 7 at the church's Saratoga facilities on Allendale Avenue. The pancake breakfast with all the trimmings was a multi-community service project made possible by Latter-day Saints volunteers from Saratoga, Los Gatos, Campbell, San Jose and Cupertino. Local businesses also donated supplies to make the event possible, and computer-genealogy experts donated their skills to assist all those who "labored" on Labor Day doing family history research.

But as if pancakes and family trees weren't enough, local emergency crews also gave children upfront, firsthand looks at the fire trucks and ambulances that protect the community.
