    Sheriff's Report

    Vandalism--Sept. 3, 9 a.m. on Saratoga Avenue. The victim is remodeling his home. The construction company left a portable toilet in front of it. The victim saw that the portable was secure and upright Sept. 2 at 10 p.m. The next morning at 5:15, the portable was pushed over onto the victim's Japanese Dwarf Maple Tree. Two branches were snapped off. The value of the tree decreased about $1,000. The tree was worth $4,000 to $5,000 before the vandalism.

    Mail Theft--Sept. 1, 8:50 a.m. on Lomas Lane. The suspect and an unidentified woman were driving on Ravine Road, in unincorporated Los Gatos. The reporting party saw the suspect or the passenger throw mail that belonged to the victim out of the car. The sheriff's office found mail that belonged to other victims at the suspect's home. The suspect said she didn't remember being in or near Saratoga or Los Gatos that day. She also said no one else could have used her car, and denied being part of the theft. She never identified the passenger.

    Attempted Burglary--Aug. 30, 6 p.m. on Village Drive. An unknown suspect tried to pry open the sliding glass door of a doctor's office. Although the suspect left pry marks on the door frame, he or she did not enter the building.

    Vandalism--Aug. 30, 10:30 a.m. on Saratoga Avenue. The facilities manager at a school told the officer that an unknown suspect had climbed onto the roof of a storage shed and removed the skylight. The suspect did not damage or steal any property, and no evidence showed that the suspect entered the building.

    Stolen Vehicle--Aug. 30, 8:15 a.m. on Three Oaks Court. The unknown suspect(s) stole the victim's Range Rover from her driveway between Aug. 29 at 7:30 p.m. and Aug. 30 at 7:50 a.m.
